Assessment: MULTIPLYING MOVEMENT

​ A multiplying movement is a multiplying prayer movement as well! Any movement that is multiplying into new places and among new peoples is fueled by prayer, but early in the movement process, the weight of intercession has shifted dramatically from outside intercessors to those within the movement. The movement itself is now mature in abiding prayer, intercession, fasting, listening prayer, and communal discernment as the foundations for its growth and health, and should be intentional about reproducing this prayer DNA in new movements that it initiates, as well as continuing to reproduce this core prayer DNA in the new house churches emerging on its own periphery.

​ The outside catalysts can still play an important role, and at this stage this is often in the area of helping movements move to new peoples and places. The old paradigm was that once a movement started the outside catalysts moved on and started over in a new place. In recent years the new paradigm has become that the initial catalyst team of outsiders and insiders work to help the movement continue to grow and expand to new peoples and places. How might you pray into this new reality?

Prayer Priorities for this Stage:

• Pray and listen around how we can continue to export the lessons we and the movement leaders have learned
• Pray and listen around how we can serve emerging movements and their leaders
• Pray for discernment in finding the gaps – segments of people groups that are unserved or underserved – age groups, social circles, hidden segments, geographical segments, etc.
• Pray that as gaps are found, they will be filled both organically and intentionally
• Pray that as gaps are filled, and resulting gaps are found that this process of finding and filling gaps will become viral
• Pray that disciples and churches will have a burden to give and pray for new work in the gaps
• Pray that the movement as a whole will have a vision to pray for the whole world and not just the spheres they can impact
• Pray that hostile government and religious leaders would be thwarted in any attempts to stop the spread of the gospel
• Pray and listen around how we can connect with other multiplying movements for mutual sharpening
